Jessica Simonar (nee Alcazar) of Edmonton, AB, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the age of 38 years.
Jessica was born on May 27, 1986, in Calgary, where she spent her childhood and early adulthood. After completing her bachelor’s degree at the University of Calgary, she pursued becoming a dentist and moved to Edmonton. Upon graduation from the University of Alberta in Doctor of Dental Surgery, she swiftly established her practice, where she dedicated her time to her patients, always striving to acquire and refine new skills to serve them better.
Jessica’s love for the outdoors and her passion for running were evident. She found joy in nature’s beauty and proudly completed a half marathon, a testament to her determination and spirit. However, her greatest passion was being a mother to her son, Teddy. Her love for Teddy was boundless, and she thrived in her role as a mother.
Jessica leaves behind her beloved son Theodore, and former husband Donald. She is also survived by her parents, Ana and Danilo Alcazar; her sisters, Raquel (Tim) Stephens, Kathryn (Francis) Bustamante, and Alyssa Alcazar; and her nieces and nephews, Nathan, Gabriel, Abigail, Emily, Sophia, Joshua, Caleb, Madeleine, Corey, and Thomas; and by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Community (800 – 85th Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in the Elbow Valley Reception Centre at Eden Brook Funeral Home (24223 Township Rd 242, Calgary, AB).
