Our dear Dorothy passed away October 16th, 2023 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 71 years.
Dorothy is survived by her brother, Jim McQuoid (Theresa) and her sister, Marilyn Christie (Doug). Also mourning her loss are her nieces and nephews and their families: Laine Amireh (Ali, Julia and Adam); Darren McQuoid (Kobi, Lake and Kali); Jaimee Olsen (Evelyn and Ethan); Jared McQuoid (son, Jet McQuoid), Marnie Mitchell (Carrie Blaug); Meghan Campbell (Scott, Erik and William) Jim Christie (Shauna, Dylan, Parker and Isabelle); Graham Christie (Hannah Shin).
Dorothy was born December 5th, 1951 to Don and Marnie McQuoid and was raised on their family farm at Estlin, SK. She attended Estlin School and resided at Luther College in Regina,SK for High School. After University in Saskatoon, SK she moved to Calgary, AB in the mid-70’s and worked at Northwest Trust for a few years; finally moving on to Marshall Drugs in the Inglewood area of Calgary. She worked as their Accounting Manager for 43 years, only recently retiring in April this year.
Dorothy came home to Regina in mid-August this year to attend a family gathering. She so enjoyed sharing memories and lots of laughs with her siblings and their family’s along with her many cousins from Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Don and Marnie McQuoid, her partner Bill Rogers, her nephew Robb Mitchell, brother-in-law John Mitchell and sister Susan McQuoid Mitchell. She was also predeceased by her beloved dog, Trixie.
Dorothy had a true love of animals and spent countless hours volunteering at many animal organizations. She had a sharp mind, a quick wit and was
loved by everyone who met her. She will be forever loved.
A Private Family Service for Dorothy will be held in Saskatchewan at a later date.
