Darren McDowell passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the age of 43 years. He will be lovingly remembered by is children, Xavier, Seth, Kade and Jessenia; mother Kathy English; father John McDowell; brother Steven McDowell; and many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers Tyler McDowell and Justin McDowell, grandparents Bob & Ruth Turgeon and Roy & Mary McDowell, and uncle Roy McDowell.
Darren was born and raised in Calgary, AB. He was a young man that had so much promise and opportunity ahead of him when he was diagnosed with kidney disease at the age of 18 years. From that point on he made the very best effort that he could, but had many struggles. Darren was very intelligent and loved to read and enjoyed listening to music. He cared for anyone that he knew and especially loved his family. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
A Funeral Service will be held for Darren at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Calgary Stake Centre (2021 – 17 Avenue SW, Calgary) on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm, with viewing prior to the service at 1:00 pm. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Calgary Humane Society (www.calgaryhumane.ca).
