January 10, 1947 – December 8, 2024
Gordon Richard Murphy, aged 77, passed away suddenly on December 8, 2024, in Bonnyville, Alberta. Born on January 10, 1947, Gordon was known for his hardworking, genuine, and humorous nature, always ready with a joke or a funny story from the good old days.
“Gord” will forever epitomize unrelenting resilience and unshakeable strength as the strongest Murphy.
Gordon is survived by his brothers, Pete (Josephine) Murphy and Pat (Shirley) Murphy; sisters, Gertie Murphy and Ilene (Pat) Keels and numerous nieces and nephews, including Peter, Wendy, Dwayne (Kelly), Chris, Gordon, Patricia, Darlene, Michael, Paddy, Sherri, Lewis (Joan) Along with his great nieces and nephews.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents Emmie & Gordon Murphy, brothers Tom, Bill, and Cyril Murphy, his nephews Randi and Danny and his beloved partner of over 40 years, Lorraine Leeder.
Throughout his life, Gordon cherished simple pleasures like walking his dog, watching movies, and cheering on his favorite hockey team, the Edmonton Oilers. His love for storytelling and laughter brought joy to those around him.
Memorial service will be announced at a later date. Gordon’s life was a testament to the power of caring and connection, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
