It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mona Lamoyne Curtis (nee: Johnson) of Coleman, Alberta, who was called to be with the Lord on December 2, 2023 at the age of 81 years.
Mona was born on November 13, 1942 in High River, Alberta to parents, Oddis & Phyllis Johnson. She blossomed into a lovely young lady that captured the heart of J.Robert “Bob” Sant. They were married for forty-six years and in that time were blessed with a loving family of five children, thirteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Mona was devoted to her family and her faith and provided inspiration and compassion with unconditional love to all under her care.
After the passing of her beloved Bob in 2005, Mona was granted the opportunity to find love again in a gentle and kind man, Richard “Goose” Curtis. They pledged their love in marriage in 2007 and formed many cherished memories traveling, singing and spending time with family and friends. Mona also enjoyed creating beautiful art pieces with embroidery, quilting, crochet, cross-stitch and sewing. She found peace and contentment in gardening and was a fabulous cook. She was an amazing lady whom we will fondly remember and forever love.
She is survived by her children: Clay (Connie) Sant, Larry (Cindy) Sant, Cindy (Greg) Graham, Trudy Koehn and Velma (Mike) Sant-Andersen; her grandchildren: Nicole, Jessica, Branden, Justin, Diana, Kyle, Trevor, Stephanie, Eric, Amanda, Sami, Dylan and Rebecca; her great grandchildren: Logan, Maddison, Riley, Khloe, Ashton, Bridgette, Maggie, Macy and Jason; her step-daughters: Christine Eskelson, Amber (Don) Byrtus and Jennifer (Paul) Anaya; seven cherished step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her first husband, J. Robert Sant; her second husband, Goose Curtis; her parents, Oddis and Phyllis Johnson; her brother, Dallas Johnson; and grandson, Joshua Sant.
The Funeral Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 1pm in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bellevue, AB (2805-214 St.) with Branch Pres. Josh Stephan presiding. The interment will follow at the Coleman Union Cemetery with Kyle Koehn providing the Dedication. Pallbearers were her grandsons.
