Marion Lundstrom Obituary
On December 1, 2023, heaven gained a beautiful soul. Marion Estella Lundstrom, 80, of Athabasca, Alberta passed away peacefully at 11:50 pm at the Wildrose Villa in Boyle, Alberta, after a long and courageous journey with Primary Progressive Aphasia dementia. Time may have stolen her language and memory, but never her spark or our love for her.
She was the beautiful bride of Roger Lundstrom, and the two were married on June 3, 1961, and enjoyed 62 years of marriage. She was a tender wife to Roger, mother and grandmother for her four children and their families, which include: Darel (Carrie + Jordan, Hannah) of Grande Prairie, Darren (Lillian + Josh, Amy, Kelsey) of Mayerthorpe, Doug of Athabasca, and Lori (Aron, + Wesley (Bryanna + Sofia, William, Isabelle, James), Luke, Renae (Nathan), Cole (Rachel) of Drayton Valley.
Marion was born February 1, 1943, in Lethbridge, Alberta and was the third of four daughters born to Walter and Delma Hughes. Marion was a gentle and outgoing lady who loved the outdoors, and many activities and adventures ranging from gardening, hiking the West Coast Trail, downhill and cross-country skiing, fishing locally and trips for 20 consecutive years in Prince Rupert, rafting the Athabasca River and even skydiving. These adventures were often shared with family and friends, and many amazing memories will last in the lives of those who knew her. She was a dedicated farm wife, stay at home mother, custom drapery seamstress, among her many roles through the years.
She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Delma, sisters, LaVern and Olive, and twin grandsons, Scott and Spencer.
A memorial service to celebrate Marion will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 2 pm at Athabasca Reform Church, 5210-47 Avenue, Athabasca.
