Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Frederick Eric Smith on Tuesday September 5, 2023 at the Moncton Hospital at the age of 57. Born in Windsor, NS, he was the son of the late Earl and Mary Smith. He worked many years as a long-haul truck driver for many different companies. He was currently working for Nuline Transport (Warren Transport) up to his illness battling AML Lukemia over the past couple months. His favorite past time when he would be home from the road was to spend time with Elizabeth and their 2 dogs, Tank and Lucky. They loved going for drives together going out for a nice meal which was going out to buffets, especially Chinese which was his favorite food. They always went to visit friends and family and also loved having a great game of crib that he would play with Elizabeth and his friend Roger from Stratford, PEI when he was over to visit. He loved the great outdoors, traveling, spending time with his fellow trucker buddies, especially Craig and Tara Tucker and their family whom he and Elizabeth were like family to them. He will be sadly missed by his partner, the love of his life, Elizabeth Tattrie, their dogs, Tank and Lucky, his children, Chantel, Paige and Brody of PEI as well as his step children, Colby, Lesley, Hayley and Tristan, a bonus daughter Jasmine McKiel who lived with them, his 3 grandchildren, Bria, Dominik and Kennedy and step granddaughter, Payton Tattrie, brothers, Kim (Angel), Perry and Duane (Janet), sisters, Anna (Russell), Della (Ronnie) Freeman and Paula, two aunts, Diana Rafters and Eva Hilchie. Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Timothy Lawrence. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Bruce’s family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and doctors at the Moncton Hospital and a special thank you to his work family Nuline (Warren) Transport for the kindness and support they are giving at this difficult time, especially Norm and Lori Shorey whom Bruce called Norm a Dad to him.
