Brian Justin Deforest, name sake of his late uncle Brian was born at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK to parents Anne and Dave Deforest. True to his nature of ALWAYS being in a rush, Brian joined the family ten weeks early at a whopping weight of 3lbs and 3oz.
Brian had an eventful childhood learning many hands-on skills from his father Dave. Including everything from carpentry to welding to auto mechanics, Brian’s skill set was invaluable. These skills created both the infamous treehouse and dune buggy just to mention a couple of his childhood accomplishments. Brian’s hands-on, hard-working skills quickly transferred to his devotion of earth moving. Watching his fathers road construction business through his youth gave him the knowledge and confidence to excel in the industry. Brian was a full time heavy equipment operator for his dads business by the age of 16 with his first true love being a scraper operator and his second love being on a dozer. In between working through his teen years Brian found time to build a stock car. He loved to test both his driving skills and his mechanical abilities on the fast-paced track alongside his brother Gordon.
Brian and Gordon were two peas in a pod. Where one brother went the other was close to follow. They pushed each others limits throughout life, growing their personalities, their skills and their love of their fathers earth moving business. The brother’s competitive relationship made them the exceptional equipment operators they became in life. Brian was currently working as an equipment operator with Sterner contracting at the time of his passing.
Brian’s adult life gifted him 3 children. These children gave Brian a new life focus. At times his drive to love these children blinded all other things in Brian’s front view. Brian’s legacy will live through his children.
Brian is predeceased by his brother Gordon, grandparents Gordon and Doreen, uncle Brian and grandfather Lee Davis.
Brian is survived by his daughter Sierra, son Aaron, daughter Everlee, parents Anne and Dave, sisters Twila (Isabelle) and Teana (Fred and Gracilyn), nephew Chevy, grandmother Yvonne Davis as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
