Brett John (Benjamin, but he would deny this) Spears – Age 38, of Truro, took his life on January 8, 2023. Born June 9, 1984, Brett grew up in Truro. He lived in Calgary, AB until recently when he moved to Halifax for a change of scenery.
He is survived by his mother, Vicki; father, John (Lisa); sisters, Nicole and Casey (Josh); beloved nieces, Ava and Carter; and close friend, Gizmo.
An avid wrestling and Chris Jericho fan, Brett also like comic books (Spider-Man in particular), video games (Mortal Combat was a favourite, but Tom Nook was a dear friend), and making fun of people on the internet.
Equally as important as his favourite things, Brett would appreciate taking this moment to tell everyone that The Eternals (2021) is a terrible movie.
He spent most of his life in pain and as a family, we are comforted that he is now at peace.
Cremation has taken place. To honour Brett’s wishes, there will be no funeral service, but please mark Brett’s life with a donation to the Nova Scotia Mental Health Foundation (mentalhealthns.ca). Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
