Brent Freeman
It is with great sorrow and fond remembrance that we announce the passing of Brent William Freeman on January 31, 2023 at Bruyere St. Vincent Hospital. Born in Ottawa on January 20, 1949, he was the son of the late William Freeman and late Beatrice (Gates) Freeman. Brent had an amazing spirit, and blessed all those around him with his generosity, self-lessness and kind-heartedness, placing the needs of others before his own. A true farmer at heart, he loved the natural world around him, and balanced a strong work ethic with a quick wit and playful sense of humour. His words and values carried a strength that guided his family’s approach to life.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his loving wife, Diane; his sister Linda (late David); his children, Brett, Kristen (Shaun), Lindsey (Peter) and Stacey (Asim); and his grandson, Maverick. He will also be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at St. Helen’s Anglican Church, 1234 Prestone Drive, on February 25th, 2023 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada; Diabetes Canada; the Ottawa Heart Institute; Parkinson Canada; the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Vincent Bruyère Hospital.
