Obituary
Beulah “Bea” Price (nee Cooke) 93, passed away on January 30th, 2023 at Lakeview Manor. Bea was born in Sus, NB, the daughter of Everett Cooke and Beulah Cutler.
Bea grew up in a large vibrant family of six kids – Mary (Tessie Terceria of Bermuda); Evie (Ron Black of Moncton); Ted (Gordon Stone of Moncton); Connie (Joe Buchanan of Kitchener); and Beth (Jack Keefe of Moncton).
Bea was proud of her King’s County roots and graduated from Sus Regional High School in 1948. She went to work in the offices of Sus MLA and MP A.J. Brooks. In 1951 she married Clarence Price in her parents’ home in Sus. They moved to Edgett Avenue in Moncton in 1960.
Bea didn’t have children of her own but she and Clarence became the much-loved stand-in parents for their dozens of nieces and nephews – each made to feel they were her favourite. Many today are still wearing the socks and mittens she knit and are using her recipes to make her gum drop cookies, sugar cookies and ginger snaps.
Bea was a wonderful, kind person with a quick joke, and a laugh. She was lots of fun to be around and made friends with, and was loved by, her caregivers in her later years. Bea is survived by her youngest sister Beth, old friends, and many nieces and nephews across Canada and in Bermuda.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Service to Celebrate and Honour Bea’s life will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 1:00 pm from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel. Reception to follow in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment will take place at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
