Ryken: Engelbertha Maria “Betty”-
A resident of Chatham, Betty Ryken passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Chatham Campus on March 13, 2023 at the age of 93.
Betty was the daughter of the late Gerald and Cornelia Persoon.
Beloved wife of the late Henry Ryken (1979).
Dear mother to Nel Denys (Gabriel), Corry Ryken, John Ryken (Bernadette), late Gerry Ryken (1991), Henry Ryken (Sharon) and Elizabeth Marchand.
Proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her sisters Annie Berkhout, Margaret Zwinkels and Rose Vis; brothers Gerard, Leen, Henk, Andre, Wim, Paul and Pete Persoon.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home, 459 St.Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection to be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 490 St. Clair Street, Chatham at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
Donations made in memory of Betty to Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the family.
