Obituary
Betty Hans,96, of Moncton, passed away peacefully within the comfort of her home on Sunday, August 13, 2023. Born in Amherst, NS, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Sarah (Kanner) Baig.
Betty retired after a long and dedicated career as a Registered Nurse. Upon retirement Betty went back to university to obtain her Bachelor of Arts. She was a lifelong member of Tiferes Israel Synagogue, where she served as a member of the sisterhood and the Hadassah. She was also a member of the Moncton Hospital Nurses Alumni; Betty enjoyed the outdoors whether it was gardening, time spent at her cottage, walking, XC skiing, the beach and swimming; she was a collector of paintings. She had a deep love and support for animals, especially cats and dogs, but most important to Betty was time spent with her family.
Betty will be missed by her husband, Alan Hans; her children, Jeff (Cheryl) and Lisa (Steven); grandchildren, Caleb (Emily Klekta), Josh (Melanie), Micah (Jess) and Alyza (Micah); great grandchildren, Alan Jeffrey, Winn, Izzy and Ami; sister, Barb (Phil); as well as extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Vera, Hazel and Dorothy.
A Service to Celebrate and Honour Betty’s life will take place on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm from Tiferes Israel Synagogue (56 Steadman St). Interment will follow in the Tiferes Israel Cemetery, Dieppe.
Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995) have been entrusted with arrangements.
