It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bette Ann (Jessop) Burke at Extendicare York, Sudbury, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the age 87 years. Born and raised in Sudbury and area; Bette Ann met and married in 1956 the love of her life Frank Burke (pre-deceased in 2011). Bette and Frank had 2 children who will miss her dearly Brenda (husband Peter Wait) of Texas and Steven (wife Monique) of Garson. She will also be missed by her brother Georges Jessop (wife Maureen) of Sudbury, all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and all her friends. Bette was an RNA at Sudbury Algoma Hospital. Bette had an active life with the Sandbaggers, the Lioness Club, Red Hat Group, fundraising for so many great organizations including Camp Quality. She loved going on her organised Bus tours with her cherished friends and always ready to help. Her baking goods brought a lot of applause. She had a heart of gold. We love you Mom (Bette) you have taught us so much. We miss you. And now she is in her husband’s loving arms forever.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Camp Quality are appreciated.
