Lea and Alex were married in Oliver in 1956. The young couple settled in Oliver, earned a living and raised their family on an orchard. Lea was the quintessential farmers wife. She worked alongside her husband, thinning fruit in the spring, harvesting in the summer and canning hundreds of jars of fruit. She had a creative flair and would spend winter days sewing clothes for the family as well as knitting and crocheting. These talents extended to interior decorating and she took great pride in creating a beautiful and comfortable home. Later, Lea worked as a clerk in several stores in Oliver. Folks will remember her friendly smile and willingness to serve.
Lea’s happiest days centred around family. She loved when her family gathered together for work parties, summer Bar-B-Ques, birthdays, anniversaries and especially Christmas. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the centre of her world.
She will be sadly missed but we will treasure the memories we made together and all the family stories she shared.
A private family gathering will be held.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, time and location to be determined.
Donations gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stoke Foundation.
