LAYMAN, Bernice Isabella (Mau)
September 12, 1930 – May 1, 2023
Bernice Layman passed away peacefully, May 1st, 2023, with her husband of almost 70 years by her side at Bonnechere Manor. Bernice Isabella was born September 12th, 1930, daughter of Frank Mau and Adele Mau (nee Ristau). She leaves behind her husband Ken Layman, children Karen Hoffman (John), Kerry Layman (Colette) and Kirk Layman (Christine). Granny to Kyle, Renee, Derek, Brandon, Greg and Jennifer. Great Granny to Wynter, Bryce, Casey, Caden and Rhett. Predeceased by siblings Francis (late Willard) Mielke, Hilda (late Elmer) Behm, Ray (Rita) Mau, Max (Diane) Mau, Elmer (late Evelyn) Mau. She also leaves many nephews and nieces.
A faithful Lutheran, she devoted much of her time to various church socials and activities. Her love of gardening, canning and baking kept her busy for most of her life. She enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing euchre and the occasional glass of wine. With all that, she always had time for her kids and grandkids. She will be missed.
Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Pinard and the staff at the Bonnechere Manor for the excellent care you gave Bernice. She would often say “they take good care of us here”.
Professional services have been entrusted to the care of Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville where visitation will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 1:00pm until time of service in the funeral home chapel at 3:00pm.
