It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father, Bernardo Carpino on Sunday, February 12, 2023, in his 93rd year at home surrounded by his loving family. He was a loving, devoted and selfless dad, husband, nonno, bisnonno and neighbour.
Bernardo, beloved husband of the late Maria Assunta Carpino. He will be forever remembered by his three children Franca Seah (Thomas), Joe Carpino (Kathy) and Maria McLachlan (Darren). Loving Nonno of Justine (Tyson), Kayla (Gui), Whitney (Nik), Renee and Ryan (Kelly). Bernardo cherished being a bisnonno to sweet Payton.
Loving son of the late Palmo and Francesca Carpino. Dear brother of Maria Carpino (Guiseppe) both predeceased, Angelina Spina (Eugenio) both predeceased, Rosina Carpino (Michele predeceased), Giovanni Carpino (Genoveffa) both predeceased, Nella Apa predeceased and brother-in-law Antonio Apa.
Anyone who met Bernardo loved him dearly. Dad will be most remembered for his unconditional love of his family, his passionate care for his garden and his ability to fix anything, even if it required a custom Bernie tool. His strength and independence was admirable and he showed his love through his generosity and kind heart. You never left his home empty handed without a treat from the garden or cantina.
A special thanks to Dr. Ruddock who treated our dad like family. Your caring demeanor will never be forgotten. Another special thanks to Dr. Robinson for your care and guidance over the past few years.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph. A visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma Street, Guelph on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 9:45am to 10:30am. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am with Father Boyd officiating. Private entombment at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
