TACKEY, Benjamin Charles “Ben”
Following a lengthy illness, Benjamin “Ben” Tackey, age 28, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, June 27th, 2023. Ben was the much loved son of Paul and Brenda and dear brother of Libby. Cherished grandson of Bob and Lynn Ellis. Nephew of Bob (Denise) Ellis, Heather (Jerry) Piechocki, and Jonathan Tackey. He will be missed by a multitude of cousins, extended family, and good friends. Ben loved music, cooking, camping, and Shakespeare. He was a loyal fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and happy to claim the Seattle Kraken as his backup team. During his many years of health challenges, Ben had an inspiring faith and hope in Jesus that allowed him to persevere. A visitation will be held at Gateway Church (15 Haldimand 66, Caledonia, N3W 1N7) on Tuesday, July 4th at 10 am with a service to follow at 11 am. Casual attire is requested. Ben will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery during a private family burial service of committal. Many thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, and other care providers who looked after Ben with great care and compassion for many years. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Gateway Church Compassion Fund or I Challenge Diabetes would be greatly appreciated.
