The family is sad to announce the passing of Allen (Barry) Hunter, peacefully at home on April 14th, 2023.
Loving husband of Grace (Deb).
Dearest Dad to Lari Peters (Jim), Jeff Hunter (Tammy), Tracey Verougstrate (Randy), Roberta Jones (Cliff), Meg Stevenson (Jim), And Rob Freeman. Predeceased by Jordie Rawlins.
Fun loving Grandfather to 13 Grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Fondly loved and remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Barry will be missed by his sister, Corrine Hardy (Elliott).
Predeceased by siblings Eileen Stein, Marie Craig and Raymond Hunter.
Barry was a proud lifetime member of the Plumbers Union Local 527.
Barry never lost his sense of humor throughout his journey and never stopped cracking jokes and always loved a lighthearted prank. He had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humour will be missed by many.
Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at Dorchester Union Cemetery.
A celebration of Barry’s life will be held at the North Dorchester Optimist Hall, 1653 Richmond Street, Dorchester on Friday, April 21, 2023 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Words of remembrance will be at 2:00 p.m.
