We are saddened to announce the passing of Barry Albert Viney, born in Addlestone, Great Britain February 3rd, 1939 passed away peacefully on April 23, 2023, at Hospice Niagara.
He was a true gentleman, a hard worker, and loved his family deeply. Barry was an Electrical Engineer, having worked for Acres International for many years, where he made significant contributions to the company.
Beyond his career, Barry had a passion for life and a love of adventure. Barry was an avid golfer, painter, reader and traveler, always seeking out new experiences and opportunities to explore the world around him.
Barry is survived by his sons Andrew Viney (Diane), Adrian Viney (Carolyn). Also survived by his cherished grandchildren Matt Viney (Daniella), Megan McCarthy (Tom), Michael Viney (Alex), Kaitlyn Viney, Kirsten Viney, Jack Viney, Katherine Viney and his great grandchildren Colin and Lia Viney, and Hayden McCarthy. Barry was very interested in his grandchildren’s adventures and achievements and always responded to their news with great pride.
Barry is also survived by his siblings Ray, Graham and Linda as well as sister-in-law and brother-in-law Robert and Valerie Clayton all living in Great Britain.
Barry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Sheina Viney.
Barry’s companions in later life were the late Judy Pope and Elaine Tattersol.
Barry will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Our family would like to thank all of his amazing medical professionals (Doctors Prodger and Conen , Nurses Marti, Megan and Kaitlyn) and the many loving caregivers who provided outstanding care to him during the final leg of his journey.
