Obituary
With his beloved Katherina, wife of 53 years, by his side, Barry Arthur Coomber passed away of complications from a stroke at Hamilton General Hospital on Thursday, September 7, 2023, in his 85th year. Deeply loved father of Helena (Seth) Seegobin and Hugh (Karen) Coomber. Proud grandfather of Magnus and Jade. Survived by his brother, Michael (Joy) and sister, Penny Gumbert (John). Fondly remembered and respected by nieces and nephews, in-laws, friends and teaching colleagues.
Barry was a graduate of the Ontario College of Art, an artist, and then teacher: for a year in the Arctic at Ulukhaktok/Holman Island, followed by 29 years in Hamilton, Dundas and Waterdown. He was a painter, printmaker and composer.
A private cremation has taken place.
