Obituary of Barbara Potter
Barbara Sheila Potter passed away at KGH Saturday, June 24, 2023, with her loving son Kevin at her side. Predeceased by her parents Muril Atwood and Maud Van Order, husband Ted, son Gord, sister Marjorie Card, brother-in-law Donald Card, and William McVety.
Survived by her sons Wayne (Sandy and her family), Kevin and Danny (Linda and her family), and sister Bonnie McVety. Grandchildren Cara (Tyler) and Justin (Anne-Marie). Great grandchildren Annabelle and Charlie. Numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.
Mom was a dedicated mother raising 4 boys (You poor Mother!) it has been said, but she claimed we were all good.
When the time came, she assisted Ted with several different business enterprises, together they made a success of a corner store, a fishing lodge and a service station.
After all that Mom went to work for HandR Block writing taxes and eventually became a founder and partner at Tax Plus where she was an integral factor in the success of that tax business, for several years.
Determined to the end, she lived for 91 years and had hoped to attend her granddaughter’s wedding. Never giving up till the end.
Thanks to everyone at KGH, especially Dr. Laura Milne and her team.
Celebration of Life for Barb Potter will be held on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston from 11 am until 1 pm. Please enter at the rear of the building.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
