LINTON, Barbara Rose
August 2, 1933 – January 16, 2023
LINTON, BARBARA ROSE Passed away on Monday January 16, 2023 in Peterborough, Ontario at Canterbury Retirement residence at the age of 89. She is predeceased by Rae, her loving husband of 60 years, her son John and brother Eric. She will forever be missed by her loving Daughters Jennifer Linton and Jo-Anne Desveaux (David), her Sister Pam Sinclair (Oliver) and her adored Grandchildren Katie and Michael. She will also be missed by her Nieces, Nephews and many friends young and old.
In addition to her most prized role of Wife, Mom and Grandma, she was well known for her love of baking and entertaining. She loved nothing more than having her friends in for a tea party where she would lay out all her good china and bake up her famous chocolate chip cookies and squares and just talk the day away! Mom also loved spending her summers at the cottage on Raven Lake and travelled the world with Dad when he spent the last 10 years of his career in Germany and Netherlands. She had a passion for singing and was a member of the Sweet Adelines for many years. Mom was also a career woman with jobs as a Teacher and a Real Estate agent for C21. Never a dull moment with Mom!
Visitation will be held at Highland Park Funeral Centre, 2510 Bensfort Road
on Monday January 23rd from 5-7 PM
A Celebration of Life will be held at her church, Edmison Heights Bible Chapel, 939 Hilliard Street on Tuesday January 24th at 11 a.m.
Private family Interment.
In lieu of flowers and in Memory of Barbara, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario or Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD Canada)
