It is with deep sorrow that the family of Barbara Frederickson announces her passing on August 30, 2023.
Barbara Ann Caroline Leier was born June 11, 1954 in Unity, SK to Jacob and Helen Leier. She grew up in Unity with her 7 siblings and many cousins. Barb loved her big family and had fond memories of her times growing up on the farm and playing at the ball diamond.
Barb moved around during her life as she grew her career as a Registered Massage Therapist. She enjoyed helping others, and took pride in her abilities as an exceptional therapist to make incredible differences in her clients lives.
Anyone who knew Barb will remember her as an excellent cook. She was famous for several dishes especially her “Barb’s Better Than Bic’s Double Garlic Dills” and always trying to feed you when you visited her house. Her last 20 years were spent in St. Albert with her life partner, Marcel Lessard. Together, using her gift of a green thumb and creativity, they built a garden sanctuary with their pet cats and abundance of vegetables and flowers, and they enjoyed their fire pit nights enjoying the sky and each other. Her spirit will live on in every flower petal and every spark.
Barb will be lovingly remembered by her son, Jacob and her daughter, Erin(Darrell); 2 granddaughters that she called the “Light of her Life”, Lindsay and Ashley; and her dear friend who helped her right until the end Charlene.
Barb had her final moments with family at her bedside after a hard fought battle with cancer. She is in peace now and with all those she loved who had gone before her. She will live in our hearts forever until we are reunited. Our love could never die or end for you Mom, it is infinite.
