SHEPHARD, BARBARA ANN
The passing of Barbara Ann Shephard occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 15, 2023. Born March 25, 1949 in Saint John, New Brunswick she was a daughter of the late Donat and Lauza (Brideau) Hachey.
Barbara spent her working career with the Red Cross specializing in Homemaker Services. She enjoyed reading, gardening, knitting and shared a great love for being in the kitchen – she could cook or bake anything!
Barbara is survived by her partner of 32 years Sandra O’Hara, son Cecil ‘CJ’ Shephard (Erica Grutzner) along with her 3 brothers; Mark Hachey, Peter Hachey and Paul (Pat) Hachey along with her sister Roseline Daley (Jim Saunders). Also left to mourn are her grandchildren; Lauza Lynn (Dylan), Glendon, Gordon, Bradley and Cameron along with her 2 great grandchildren Desmond, and Cayden.
In addition to her parents, Barbara is predeceased by her daughter Bonnie Thorne, sister Almondine Wheaton and brothers Archie Hachey and Donald Hachey.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with a Mass of Christian Burial taking place at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 12:10 PM.
