Augustus Bernard Cuerden, age 93, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on May 18, 2023. Born in Lancashire, England, son of the late Augustus and Anne (Riley) Cuerden. Beloved husband of the late Anne (Brown) Cuerden who predeceased him September 6, 2008. Loving father of Linda Booth (Chris) and Ian (Lynne) John Cuerden (Cate). Grandfather of Devon Cuerden, Brennan Cuerden (Amber), Darren Booth (Sarah), Linda Hook-Dale (John), Lindsay Cuerden, Mark Cuerden (Savannah), Eric Cuerden (Melissa). Great grandfather of Charlie, Owen, Taya, Lois, Lilly, Lauren, Jake, Danny, Rowan, Zach, Lola. Also survived by daughter-in-law Lynne Cuerden, sisters Freda Holden (Alan), Sheila Noblet, sister-in-law Dorothea Cuerden and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Ian Cuerden, brothers Tom, Frank and Wilfred Cuerden. He was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #8 Stratford. A family graveside service will be held at Avondale Cemetery. Donations in Austin’s memory may be made to the Stratford General Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the W.G.
