Passed away peacefully at Juravinski Hospital surrounded by her family on Monday, July 24, 2023, at the age of 78. Born in Sidcup, Kent, England on February 14, 1945, to Ernest and Erica (Meier) Simcoe (predeceased). Beloved wife of Stephen Preston for 54 years. Loving mother of Jonathan (Kerri) (Leah predeceased), Gregory (Kristine) and Matthew (predeceased) (Julia) Preston. Cherished grandmother of Nicholas, Nathan, Jamieson and Elizabeth “Ellie” Preston. Fondly remembered by step-grandchildren Samantha Rutherford (Anthony Boyd) and Daniel Rutherford. Dear sister of Helen (William predeceased) Gawley, and Patricia Simcoe. Sister-in-law to Annette (Howard) Rhodes, Lorraine Preston-Orchard (Robert Orchard), Gina (David) Smith, and George (Marianne) Preston. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Canada and Switzerland. The family wishes to thank the staff at Juravinski Hospital for their exceptional care.
Interment will take place at CARLISLE UNITED CHURCH CEMETERY on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 2 p.m. A livestream will be made available under “Events”. A celebration of Audrey’s life will be held at the CARLISLE UNITED CHURCH, 1432 Centre Road on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Juravinski Hospital would be appreciated.
