Ardith Doreen Myrtle
Tattrie – 94, Belmont,
passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, January 26, 2023, at
Willow Lodge Home for Special Care, Tatamagouche. Born in Crowes
Mills, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Beryle (Roode)
Lynds.
Ardith worked with her uncle, Wilbert Lynds, in Halifax as an
administrative assistant before she married Ronald. She spent most of
her married life in Belmont raising her family, which she took great
pride in and was so important to her. Most of her interests and
hobbies, such as horseback riding, skating and gardening evolved
around the outdoors as she had a love and appreciation for the beauty
of nature. She was also an avid quilter and many family and friends
will forever treasure these beautiful works of her
hands.
Ardith is survived by her sons, Randy (Jill), Onslow
Mountain; Wade (Nancy), Stillwater Lake; daughters, Wanda (Granville)
MacMillan, North River; Jennie King, Truro; Susan Dickey, Truro; 11
grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; many nieces and
nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Ronald; son, Ronald Randolph; sons-in-law, James King, Jeffrey Dickey;
sisters, Lorna MacEachern, Mable Bonnell; brothers, Billy Lynds,
Russell Lynds.
Special thanks are extended to the dedicated and caring staff
of VON, Earth Angels and most recently, the staff and volunteers at
Willow Lodge.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Ardith’s
family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2023.
Interment will be held at a later date in Belmont Cemetery. If so
desired, donations in Ardith’s memory to Colchester SPCA or
charity of choice are welcomed. Private messages of condolence may be
