It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Annie Isabella Scott Ramage at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Monday, March 20, 2023 at the age of 91 years. Annie was born in Markerville, Alberta on March 9, 1932 to Andrew and Ann, a large Scottish immigrant family. This led to a love of all things Scottish. She was an avid dog lover, enjoyed travelling to Scotland and Australia, had an appreciation for music and dancing, and delighted in walking her dogs through the McKenzie Trails. She devoted her life to caring for her special needs brother, Donald, for over forty years. Annie will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Steve of Courtney, British Columbia and Donald of Michener Extendicare in Red Deer, Alberta, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Annie was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Ann Ramage; her brothers, Allen, Gordon, Eric, David, Angus, and Robert; her sister, Kay; several half and step brothers and sisters; and of course, her beloved Highland Terriers, Lochie and Katie. Following Annie’s wishes, there will be no Funeral Service. Annie will be laid to rest at the Queen’s Park Cemetery, Calgary, Alberta, at a later date. A special “Thank You” to Dr. J. Viljoen, Catholic Social Services, Home Care, Michener Extendicare, and all the wonderful neighbors that have been so kind and helpful to Annie and her family. If desired, Memorial Donations in Annie’s honor may be made directly to Catholic Social Services at www.cssalberta.ca or to the Central Alberta Humane Society at www.cahumane.com.
