Ann White passed peacefully at 5pm on June 26, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. True to her incredible self, she was as funny, witty and loving as ever, right to the end.
Ann was born in Kingston, Ontario, raised largely in Peterborough and raised her own family there. Ann proudly worked her entire career in radio and television at CHEX and after retiring chose to move to Niagara to be closer to her beloved grandchildren. Loving, kind and generous always, mixed with an incredible sense of humour, she always put others before herself. She cared deeply for her many friends and colleagues, but ultimately her entire life was devoted to her children and then her grandchildren. Ann will be deeply missed by her son Jason (Cindy) White, her daughter, Krista White and by her cherished grandchildren, Carter, Alexander and Elliotte. Ann is survived by her sisters Brenda (Warren) Rosborough, Linda Pane and Lisa (Dale) Mutch, as well as her sister-in-law Cathy Vanwart. Ann joined her parents, Marjorie and Alton Vanwart, in heaven, as well as her two brothers, Herb Pane and Fred Vanwart. Ann was a favourite aunt to many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Ann will be missed by all those knew her and she will live on in all of our hearts. While flowers are lovely, donations made to a charity closest to your heart in Ann’s honour would be appreciated by her family. She was a light that always has and always will shine bright. Rest easy and make sure you have your dancing shoes on up there in heaven. A graveside service will be held for family at Highland Park Cemetery on Wednesday, July. But because we know that Ann was truly a remarkable woman who touch so many with her kind heart, fun-loving nature, and her bold singing voice, we would like to invite those who loved Ann to join us for reminiscing, laughter and music from 1:00-3:00pm at Highland Park Funeral Centre (2510 Bensfort Rd. Peterborough, ON). Family, friends, music and laughter – these are the things that mattered most to Ann.
