CAWTHORN, Ann Louise (nee Avery) – passed away at the ILTC at Welland Hospital on Monday, April 10, 2023 in her 86th year. Predeceased by her husband Douglas Sr. (2003) and son Douglas Jr. (2020). Loving mother of Andrea Spooner (Scott) and dear mother-in-law of Carrie Farr. Cherished grandmother of Niccole Mikulec (Al), Dawn Palmisano, Danielle Wasnick (Lou), Amber Spooner and Brett Cawthorn (Amelia). She will be lovingly remembered by her 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Dorothy Butzer (Albert). Mrs. Cawthorn was a teacher for 33 years spending 29 years with the Niagara South Board of Education retiring from Glendale School in 1994. Ann was an active member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Welland. The family will receive their friends at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home 241 West Main Street, Welland on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 2 – 4 p.m. followed by a service to celebrate her life will be held in the Cudney Chapel at 4 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
