July 28, 1936 – March 8, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allan Hugh Douglas, after a long illness and surrounded by his loving family and the sacraments of the Church, he was called by God to his reward.
Beloved husband for 53 years of Mary Ellen Douglas, loving and admired Father of Allan Douglas Jr. (Maureen), Maggie Duffy (Brendon), Stephen Douglas (Ashleigh), Jamie Douglas (Natalie) and Laura Douglas (Brendan). Loved Poppy of grandchildren Fiona, Kyle; Brad, Courtney, Brieanna, Keeva and Liam; Colton, Brady and Axel; Rylee, Callum and Piper; Molly and Keira and Great-Grandfather of Sawyer, Ryder and Marleigh.
Allan retired from his work at Queen’s University in the Microbiology Department after 40 years. He was an avid reader of religion, history and fiction. He enjoyed woodworking, stamp collecting and his grandchildren were a special blessing.
Visitation will be held at the James Reid Funeral home at 1900 Counter St. on Saturday, March 11th from 3 to 5 and 7 until 9 and on Sunday, March 12th at 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church 490 Day’s Road at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023.
We would like to thank the Home and Community Care program and the compassionate Personal Support workers who helped us for the last year.
