Obituary of Aileen Barker
Barker; Aileen Frances – Peacefully, on January 21, 2023.
“Babs” , as she was known to friends and family, was born in Montreal, Quebec, in 1922, daughter of Arthur Cagney and Grace Mackedie, sister of Alan Cagney (deceased), and Terry Cagney.
She was pre-deceased by her cherished husband, Frederick George Barker, of fifty-eight years (2003), by their infant daughter, Joan (1952), and by their beloved son, David (2012).
She leaves her dear son, Alan (Sharron Cowan), daughter, Frances (Rob Brown), daughter, Gwenyth (Keith Benjamin), and daughter-in-law, Christine. Loving granny to eight grand-children, and five great-grand-children. Nothing was more important to her than those she knew and loved.
The family would like to thank the wonderful team at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre for their attentive care.
A private memorial will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Medecins Sans-Frontieres or Unicef, in her memory, would be appreciated.
