Suzette Therese Alexandrina Storey Forster (aged 75) passed away at home, peacefully in her sleep on December 31st, 2022, surrounded by the love of her family and pets after a courageous battle with liver cancer.
Suzette was born in Rushden, England on March 18th, 1947. She lived in England until she moved to Canada with her two daughters in 1979. She had a few careers throughout her lifetime, she enjoyed working with the Jockey Club of England for a period of time, as well as working in the fields of Administration and most recently Horticulture. She loved working with the flowers and her beloved work family at Gemmell’s Garden Centre in Smith’s Falls for the last 16 years of her life.
Suzette will be remembered most for her great sense of humour, stubbornness, strength, love for gardening and the outdoors, and how her smile would light up any room she walked into. She’s survived by her husband, Bryan Forster, her brother Paul Storey (Terry), her daughters Kate and Charlotte Sim, her Grandchildren Clara Ashton, Alex McDowell and Meaghan Sim-Parker as well as her many friends and loving extended family in England.
An outdoor Celebration of Life Garden Party will be hosted in the late spring to honour her memory. Details will follow at a later date.
Donations may be made in Suzette’s memory to Beth Donovan Hospice, Canadian Cancer Society and Kingston General Hospital Foundation.
