Lloyd Ivan Travis
1959-2023
The passing of Lloyd Ivan Travis occurred peacefully at his
home in Canal NB on April 5, 2023. Born at Miramichi NB on August 19,
1959, he was a son of the late Benson and Juanita (Matchett)
Travis.
A loving father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, in addition
to his son Spencer McLean and two granddaughters Scarlet and Braelynn
of Utopia, he is survived by his beloved siblings: Brenda Martin of
St. George NB, Benny Travis (Carol Voutt) of Blacks Harbour NB,
Rosalie (Burton) Borthwick of Canal NB, Gladys Holt of St. George NB,
Vincent Travis (Isabelle Dion) of Bonny River NB, Dennis Travis of
Utopia NB, Barbara Travis (Darren French) of St. George NB, Spinge
Travis (Doug Vantassel) of Pennfield NB and Murray Dyer of Mascarene
NB, his step-mother: Carol Travis of Canal NB; several aunts, uncles,
nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his long time family at Fundy
Contractors. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a
brother Perry in infancy and brother-in-law Thomas
Wilkins.
Prior to his illness, Lloyd worked as a heavy equipment
operator for Fundy Contractors, where he had been employed for most of
his life. Working and helping others was his hobby as Lloyd was known
as a very selfless person always putting the needs of everyone else
before himself.
His pride and joy was his son Spencer. He was an avid
outdoorsman who loved camping and fishing with his son. He will be
sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and
appreciation to his doctors, New Brunswick Extra Mural, St. George as
well as his friends Cindy Babineau and Tommy Johnston for their kind
and compassionate care given to Lloyd throughout his
illness.
Arrangements are in the care of the St. George Funeral Home
& Crematorium (755-3533). In keeping with Lloyd’s wishes there
will be no visitation at the funeral home. A graveside service will be
held at the Presbyterian Kirk Cemetery in Pennfield NB on Saturday,
May 6th, 2023 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ann
Boudreau officiating, followed by a reception at the St. George
Presbyterian Kirk Hall. In Lloyd’s memory, donations to
Charlotte County Cancer or to a charity of the donor’s
choice would be appreciated by the family.
