James Oliver Baglole, age 91, passed away peacefully at
Western Hospital, Alberton on Wednesday April 5, 2023. He was born on
April 16, 1931, in Richmond, Prince Edward Island, to the late Melvin
and Louise (Yeo) Baglole.
James was a lifelong resident of Prince Edward Island, and
he was an active member of his community. He attended O’Leary United
Church for many years, volunteered his time at the O’Leary Fire
department and was always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in
need. He had a deep love for sports, especially hockey and curling,
and was a familiar face at the local rink. Jimmy also loved to fish
and golf, and enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family and
friends.
James was a dedicated member of numerous community
organizations and was actively involved in fundraising efforts for
them. He was known for his kind and generous nature, always
encouraging to those around him.
James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Yvonne
(2019), son, Clark (2022), brothers Arthur and Sterling; sisters
Muriel and Alma.
Loving father to David, O’Leary; Heather (Norman) Beattie,
Truro, NS; Lisa (Jeff) Laceby, Sharon, ON and father-in-law
to Paula Baglole, Cascumpec.
Caring grandfather to Julie (Daithon) Heavyside, Riverview,
NB; Susan (Eric) Wahl, France, Sara (Justin) Murphy, Cole Harbour, NS;
Melissa (Justin) Blaauwendraat, Truro, NS; Grace Laceby (Liam
Dalgleish), Sharon, ON; James Laceby, Sharon, ON. Great grandfather to
Jack, Nate, Felix, Lucile, Maeve, Lydia, Kara and
Gavin.
Jimmy is also survived by sisters-in-law Pauline Baglole,
Marion Betts and Mae Moran.
Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home & Chapel with
visitation on Monday, April 10th from 11:30-1:30 then to the O’Leary
United Church for funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment at Bloomfield
United Church Cemetery.
