Omer Melanson, 82, of Haute-Aboujagane, passed away
surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday April 4, 2023 at his
residence. Born in Haute-Aboujagane, he was the son of the late
Romuald and Catherine (Léger)
Melanson.
Prior to his retirement, Omer worked in construction
as a crack filler and drywaller.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years,
Fernande Melanson (LeBlanc); four children: Michel (Gabrielle) of
Dieppe, Sylvie Boudreau (Michel) of Shediac, Nicole Melanson (Roger)
of Grand-Barachois, and late Claudette (1965); two brothers: Henri of
Grand-Barachois, and Léo of Moncton; six grandchildren:
Cynthia, Jesse, Amélie, Lucas, Monica, and Janelle; five
great-grandchildren: Hailey, Zackary, Zoey, Mélie, and
Kamie, as well as several nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by five
brothers: Alcide, Roger, Roméo, Arthur, and Normand; two
sisters: Rolande Ouellette and Rose
LeBlanc.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette
Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297)
where the funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday April 8 at
10:30 am. Visiting hours are Saturday from 9 am to 10:20 am. Interment
will be in the Frenette Columbarium,
Shediac. In memory of
Omer, a contribution to the New Brunswick Lung Association or to a
charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated.
