Noëlla Bellefleur, 82, born Eagle, of
Moncton, passed away on Saturday April 1, 2023 at the Dr.
Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Rexton, she was the daughter of the
late Hector and Annie (Richard) Eagle.
She is survived by two children: Jean-Marc
(Charlotte and her daughters Danielle & Isabelle) of Dieppe,
and Janice Bellefleur-Kenny of Moncton; five grandchildren: Julie,
Jacques, Taylor, Selena, and Jordan (Isabelle
Leblanc); one brother, Hector of Hamilton, ON; one
brother-in-law, John Bellefleur of Toronto, two sisters-in-law: Rita
Eagle of Moncton and Joan Vickers of Montréal, QC; as well
as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert
“Bob” (2019); an infant son, Jacques (1974); a
daughter-in-law, Josette (2007); and eight siblings: Laurie (1984),
Albertine (2000), Georgina (2002), Martha (2004), Maria (2015),
Claudia (2018), Bertin (2018), and Augustin
(2019).
Prior to her retirement, she was employed with
the Federal Government. Noëlla was a dedicated volunteer at
the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont hospital oncology department and member of
the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Catholic Church, Club
d’Âge d’Or, Saint-Vincent-de-Paul and
Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
Following her cancer diagnosis in 1983, Noella
became an avid walker making many friends along the way. She
participated in many Terry Fox runs often inspiring others to join the
cause. She took great pride in being present and involved in the lives
of her children and five grandchildren. She cared deeply for her
family, friends and neighbours leaving them with cherished
memories.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses of
the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital and a special thank you to her
caregiver, Catherine Hynes Bernier of My
Care.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette
Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900)
on Tuesday April 4 from 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday April 5 from 9:30 am
until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated
at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church, 858 Mountain Road,
Moncton, on Wednesday April 5 at 11 am. Interment will be at Our Lady
of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Noëlla, a
contribution to Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Church or the CHU Dumont
Foundation (oncology) or donors’ choice would be
appreciated.
