Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Vera Campbell on March 25, 2023, at the age of 84, devoted wife to Frank Campbell, (deceased), honoured Mother of Lynn, (Bob) Finnamore and Jeff (Cheryl) Campbell. An ever-encouraging light to her grandchildren and grandchildren in law, Darren and Nicole Finnamore, Stacie (nee Finnamore), and Richard Ward, Jeremy and Amber Campbell, and Josh and Cathleen Campbell. Beloved Great-grandmother to 10 beautiful children who brought joy to her very soul. Connor, Claire, Riley, Myles, Sam, Gwen, Arleigh, Willow, Zoey and William.
Vera was the most wonderful combination of love and generousity, and a proud matriarch who put family first, even if she was notoriously a little late to our gatherings. She was a woman of faith, and lived that out through ongoing acts of kindness to her family, her church, and through community service. She was a unique woman of strength which was reflected in her role as a caregiver to her parents, her husband, friends, and most recently Nita Finnamore.
She found purpose in her accounting work, which she never retired from – though we tried to convince her otherwise, she was never one to be idle. There was always a batch of cookies on the counter and a second batch to be packaged and taken to others. Her baking was an act of love.
She was the reason our family gathered often and will be the reason we carry on our traditions, because she was the best example of how to care for each other, without judgement and with grace, love, and always food!
We will miss you Vera, but your legacy and spirit lives on in each life you touched with your work ethic, your generousity, the way you cheered us on, and your love of family. We thank God that we are assured that you are in the fullness of joy, surrounded by the unconditional love of Jesus, in a place of rest from the burdens of this world, but where you will serve with beautiful purpose, as you did in this life.
A private memorial will be held by family.
