The passing of Thomas Melvin Johnston formerly of Fredericton , NB , husband of the late Pearl ( Bell ) Johnston occurred on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at White Rapids Manor, Fredericton Junction, NB. Born on September 29, 1924 in North Clones, NB, he was the son of the late John and Gertrude Johnston. He was a retired CNR Trainman. Thomas enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was affiliated with Marysville United Church of Canada.
Thomas is survived by his son, Ronald Johnston (Carolyn) and daughter, Betty Johnston both of Fredericton , NB ; sister, Alice Haines of Fredericton , NB ; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his sister, Lillian Fox.
There will no visitation; a Private Graveside Service will take place in the Taymouth Community Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Chalmers Foundation or to the IWK Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive . Fredericton, NB.
