Obituary For Geraldine Christina Coombs
It’s with heavy hearts we mournfully announce the passing of Geraldine, my wife of 50 years and Mother to our two sons Robert (Natasha) and James (Pamela).
Geraldine went to school in Deer Lake, NFLD where she graduated and went on to get married at the age of 19 years. She then moved to Labrador City where she lived, owned and operated a restaurant for 17 years. After a few years back in Newfoundland, she moved out to Alberta with her husband and sons. They lived in Grande Prairie until her passing. She loved her family and grandchildren very much, Geraldine was also a huge animal lover.
Geraldine is survived by her husband Dan, two sons Robert and James, four grandchildren Bailey, Evann, Emily and Christopher, her two sisters and two brothers in Deer Lake, NFLD as well as numerous cousins back in Newfoundland.
She was pre-deceased by her parents Albert and Eva Haines of Deer Lake as well as her brother Ace from Deer Lake.
A celebration of Geraldine’s life will be held on Thursday March 30th, 2023 at Bear Creek Funeral Home (11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie, Alberta) at 2pm.
Memorial donations may be made in Geraldine’s memory to Bandaged Paws (bandagedpaws.org) or any animal rescue of your choice.
