It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Nancy Heitner on March 8th, 2023 at the age of 70 years.
Nancy was a Christmas baby born to Edna Pike and Bruce Gillies on December 25th, 1952. She was raised in a nuns convent in the Edmonton area until she was 18 years old. Nancy then married Edgar Heitner and they were together until his passing. She met her partner Earl O’Hara and they lived together until his passing in 2014.
Nancy is survived by her friend Violet Meise, her three half-sisters Colleen McCullough (Ernest), Kathy Giffen (Herb Neaudeau), Doreen Giffen, her brothers Henry and David Gillies, her sister Carol, two granddaughters as well as many great nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by Bernie Giffen, her brother Bruce Wilkinson, her husband Edgar Heitner (1990) and her partner Earl O’Hara (2014).
A Celebration of Life for Nancy Heitner will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Happy Hour Club, 5011 47 Ave Spirit River, AB, at 1:00pm.
