Obituary
On Tuesday, March 14 2023, Henry was peacefully called home by his Saviour while surrounded by his family. We are thankful that his six-year battle with brain cancer is finished, and the victory over death is won! He led his family with a godly example and a steadfast faith.
Henry was the cherished husband of Elaine (neé Knegt) for 39 years, and father of Chris and Jolene (Sophie, Evan, Myles), Matt and Mary (Asher, Chase, Parker, Lexi, Sienna, baby), Sharlene and Lambert (Dominic, Dustin, Sydney, Clayton), Lawrence and Jane (Eden), Nolan and Alyssa, and Olivia and Daniel (Adeline). He will be deeply missed by his large extended family: Tante Joke DeVries-Togeretz (Netherlands), Yvonne & Robert Nahl, Corry & Gerard Gaudet, Henriette Marsh, Margaret and Albert Heemskerk, Tony and Marcelle Togeretz, Tim and Cathy Togeretz, Ed and Bernadine Togeretz, Walter and Wilma Togeretz, Clarence and Jeanette Togeretz, Elaine and Art Pruim; Millie Knegt, Ed and Greta Knegt, Sandra and Wayne VanVeen, Warren and Steph Knegt, Carolyn and Andy Bouwman, Andrew and Teresa Knegt, Ben and Amanda Knegt, Leslie and Brian Hofsink; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, March 17 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at ZION UNITED REFORMED CHURCH (1238 Old Highway 8, Sheffield) where the Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 18 at 3 PM, Rev. Al Bezuyen officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. An interment service will be held at Burlington Memorial Gardens earlier that day.
