NAGY, Josephine (nee: Wilson) – Passed away peacefully, with her family at her side on Monday, March 13th, 2023 at the Welland Hospital at 91 years of age. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Julius “Gyula” and daughter Josie. Loving mother of Julius John and Adele (Adib). Cherished grand mother to Emily, Alexander and Andrés (Corrine). She was predeceased by her 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Josephine was born in Two Dales, Derbyshire, England April 20, 1931 and immigrated to Canada in 1952. She had worked as a physio therapist at the old Welland Hospital (Annex) before staying at home to raise her family. Josephine enjoyed nature and as an avid gardener taught her children and grandchildren how to care for the birds in her garden. She was a member of St. David’s Anglican Church and with her husband Julius as a partner was an accomplished ballroom dancer. She was also a member of the Velvetones Choir at the Senior Centre in Welland. Josephine loved to cook and learned to make many traditional Hungarian meals and pastries for her family. The family will receive their friends at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Friday, March 17th, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
