Bill was born in Gravelbourg, Sask. to Hugh and Marie Cummings
Predeceased by his parents, Bill leaves to mourn his wife Joyce, daughter Nicole Sims (Matt), grandchildren Tess and Finn, siblings Carol Hahn (Larry), Wayne (Donna), Linda Boos, Craig, Paul (Lana), plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. As well, his lifelong friends and business colleagues.
He left us far too soon. The impact he had on his family, friends and loved ones will be felt for years to come. He had a great ability to make others smile and feel special. He loved being silly with his grandkids, cracking jokes and playing light hearted pranks.
He loved his dogs and his wish was to be buried with their urns, so they would always be by his side.
Bill’s entire career was spent in the oil and gas industry, which took him from the Arctic Circle to the Grand Banks off of Newfoundland/Labrador. He spent the last 23 1/2 years of his career with Variperm Canada Ltd. He reluctantly retired from Variperm in 2018. Even after his retirement, he kept in close contact with many of his colleagues, attending various social functions.
His sense of adventure gave him a passion to see the world. He travelled to numerous unique and exotic countries around the globe, making lifelong friends along the way.
Growing up, sports was a big part of his life, with hockey and football being his passions, which extended to his adult life. The Saskatchewan Roughriders, Seattle Seahawks and Edmonton Oilers are losing a devoted fan. Another of his passions was his Harley Davidson. He so enjoyed his time spent on his bike, whether it as a solo ride or a “Ride Night” in Provost or the annual Bike trip with the “Crack One Off Gang”. May you rest in peace our dear friend.
