Mary Catherine Weber (Gibbons) of Stratford, passed away unexpectedly March 11, 2023 at University Hospital in London, at the age of 83. She was a devoted wife of 61 years and survived by her beloved husband Warren Weber; deeply loved by her children Denise, Dan and his wife Jean, and her grandchildren Nicholena Weber, Bridget McCann (Josh and son Dawson), Michael McCann (Christine). Also survived by her sisters Sheila Cuillerier (Bob), Ruth Bechberger (Paul), sister-in-law Joy Dennis (Don) brother-in-law Butch Weber (Val) and sister-in-law Debbie Cole (Brad) as well as several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents James and Patricia Gibbons, father and mother in-law Henry and Lilian Weber, sister Patty Gibbons, brother Frank Gibbons and sister-in-law Liz Gibbons and nephew Paul Francis Bechberger. Mary was born in East Wawanosh (Wingham). She was a woman of strong faith and prayer who loved her family and friends deeply, always putting others before herself. She had a passion for gardening and was a very active member for several years in the Catholic Woman’s League at St. Joseph’s church; she loved walking and exercise class. Her door was always open for a visit, a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and always a good laugh.
Visitation will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, March 15, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, March 16, at 11 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada or Childhood Cancer Canada through W.
