Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jamie Philip Stack, who was taken too soon on December 19, 2024, at the age of 42, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Jamie was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend to all who had the pleasure to have known him.
Predeceased by his grandparents, Josephine & Tim Raymond, Joseph & Bridget Stack.
Jamie had two loves in his life, his family and the sea. He adored the love of his life, his wife of six short weeks. Bernadette. Although their married life was short, they shared 14 years wonderful years together. His children Landen and MaKayla, were the center of his world, one of his proudest moments was becoming a father. Jamie deeply loved and respected his parents, and his love for his siblings was unwavering. Equally as important to Jamie was his life at sea. His heart belonged to the ocean. Jamie was happiest when he was steaming out through the Petty Harbour breakwater with his children’s names on the boat’s tail. “Landen and MaKayla.”
Jamie touched so many hearts. Leaving to mourn and honor his life are his loving wife Bernadette Stack (nee Gentry), devoted parents Philip and Donna Stack (nee Raymond), siblings Kim Stack(Andrew) and Joey Stack (Bernice), his children MaKayla Gentry(Marc) and Landen Stack(his mother Jenelle Butterworth); his mother in law, Judy Gentry, brother in law Terry Gentry(Marlene); niece Brooklyn Warren and nephew Alex Gentry. Jamie also leaves behind a large circle of friends, including his cousin/fishing buddy, John Stack, his life long best friend Stephen Howlett, Stephen Ershler, Blair Chafe, Gerry Kennedy, Colin Kennedy, Joanne Head, and the members of the Petty Harbour Fishermen’s Co-Op, Father Jeff and other friends too numerous to mention. Special thank you to George Horan, Gerry Hearn and to everyone who helped out that day. All of Dad’s fur babies, his six cats , baby girl Zoey, and Mom’s Bailey Boo will certainly miss their Dad.
