It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Janet Harder at the age of 75 years, at the Menno Home for the Aged, Grunthal, MB.
She was predeceased by her parents John (1995) & Lillian (1999) Schalla and her siblings Wilbert (2012) & Evelyn (2011) Schalla; Gordon (2020) Schalla; Sylvia (2005) Rempel; Alice (1999) & Erwin (1990) Meyers; Jacky Pandey (2000) and her parents-in-law Frank & Agnetha Harder and numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews.
Peacefully mom went to be with her Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Menno Home for the Aged in Grunthal, following a long and courageous battle with dementia of 18 years. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her loving husband Abe of 54 years and her two children and son-in-law and daughter-in-law Jenn (Ron) Daignault; Kevin (Patricia) Harder; their grandchildren: Jazz Daignault (Michael San Pedro), Shane St. Michael, Trent St. Michael (Tianna Chohan), Brent St. Michael, Dos Harder, Maddy & Kaylynn Mayer, Tamara Jasin; two great-grandchildren: Mikael San Pedro, Landon St. Michael, along with one sister, one brother and many nieces and nephews.
As a family we would like to express appreciation and gratitude to all staff at the Menno Home, doctors and everyone involved in moms everyday life including the cleaning staff. We thank you so much for what you do. They truly are wonderful people who cared for mom each day. As well as the prayers and kind words of strength, wisdom, hugs from family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to suggest donations be made to Menno Home Foundation of Grunthal Inc., Children’s Hospital, Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, a charity of one’s choice, or a tree can be planted on behalf of Janet Harder.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. To join the family via livestream, click HERE prior to the service.
The interment will take place at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.
