It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Moran, a devoted mother, sister, and loving grandmother, who passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 12, 2024. Donna was a passionate dog lover, a caring and devoted friend, and will be remembered for her kindness and sense of humor.
Donna spent her life dedicated to the family business where she worked side by side with her father, Donald, for many decades. However, it was her role as a mother and grandmother that she held most dear.
Donna was a proud mother to Lori Haughian (Doug), Sean Moran (Tracy), and Kelly Moran (Ron); and a cherished grandmother to Chelsey and Cody. She also leaves behind her little puppers, Zena, Zeplyn, and Bazel, whom she treasured. She was predeceased by her dear parents, Donald and Florence Fleming; her sister, Pat; and brother, Larry; and is survived by her siblings, Bonnie Fleming and Floyd (Barbara) Fleming.
Known to her family as “Macob,” “Big D,” “Gram,” “Mama Bear,” or “Donna Central,” she had a way of lighting up every room she entered—whether through her quick wit or her infectious laugh. When she wasn’t golfing at Jagare Ridge, Donna could be found tending to her flowers or playing a competitive game of poker with family. She also loved the Christmas season, especially her dear friend ‘Mrs. Jones’ baked goods, and enjoyed the annual “Old Crows Campout.”
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff, nurses, and caregivers at the Roozen Family Hospice Centre, where Donna was treated with such extraordinary compassion and kindness. Thank you for creating a space of comfort and dignity in her final days.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal Celebration of Life. Instead, the family invites those who knew and loved Donna to honor her memory through Donations to SCARS (Second Chance Animal Rescue Society), 9804-90 Avenue, Morinville, AB, T8R 1K7, or to the Roozen Family Hospice Centre, 9808-148 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, T5N 3E8.
Donna’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and all who were lucky enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered always.
