KENDRICK, WILLIAM HENRY
August 27, 1932- March 5, 2023
William “Billy” Henry Kendrick passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital with family by his side. He was ninety years old.
Billy leaves behind his wife of 72 years, Mavis Irene Kendrick (Waugh); his children, Gail (Goolie) Brewer, Michael (Lori), Kathy (Blaine) Harvey and Gary (Lisa); nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Steven and Steven’s partner, Joan Gamble; as well as his mother, Glenna Kendrick (Pond) and his sister, Barbara Boyce.
Billy lived his life in Marysville. He raised his family in his beloved brick house on Canada Street and remained there happily until his failing health forced him to leave in June of 2022. He was currently residing with his wife, Mavis at Paradise Villa.
Billy loved Marysville and his life revolved around the town. He worked at the Cotton Mill and when it closed he worked for the Provincial Government. His working career ended working in maintenance at the mill after it transitioned to Marysville Place . Billy enjoyed walking to work and after his retirement, he went on long early morning walks around the town daily.
Billy loved baseball and was very proud of his many years playing on the Marysville Royals. He was a lifelong Yankees fan. He enjoyed hunting and being in the woods at his much loved camp “The Birches” with one of his cherished dogs. He always had a beautiful garden and a yard full of flowers. Billy was a great story teller with a vast knowledge of past events in the town. In later years, he greatly enjoyed his visits from Terry Arnold, hearing news of the town and recalling numerous stories of the past.
The Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 2 pm with Rev. Jason Hinsdale officiating. Interment will take place in Marysville Baptist Extension Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Bridge Church .
